旧アメリカ大使館

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]ホーチミンの金融街に建つ古ぼけた建物はかつてのアメリカ大使館です。1964年にベトコンによる爆弾テロ事件が起こるまでアメリカ大使館と使われていました。現在もほぼ当時のまま残され、銀行大学の本部オフィスビルとして使われています。[/vc_column_text][vc_masonry_media_grid element_width=”2″ filter_size=”md” include=”314,317,320″][vc_column_text] 1950-1965 The United States granted recognition to the State of Vietnam led by the Bảo Đại government in 1950, and a U.S. embassy was established in Saigon that year. Following the Geneva Accords of 1954 and the subsequent partitioning into North Vietnam and South Vietnam, the United States did not extend diplomatic recognition to North Vietnam. 私は、私自身とこの国との最初の出会いとなった何年も前の朝のひとときを、妙に静かな気持ちで思い出しながら、戦火の連なる水田の彼方を長い間見つめた。絶え間ない銃声や砲音も耳に入らなかった。根元をさぐれば殺伐なはずの、黒煙や白煙自体も、このものうい大パノラマの中では、春がすみのように淡くおだやかなものにみえる。その優しく穏やかな風景を舞台に、今、ひとつの世界の終焉の最後の幕が演じられている。次々と盛り上がる黒煙、白煙、バラバラに飛び交う数知れぬ黒い鳥ー。人の世は儚く矮小だ。そして一国の最後とは何とグロテスクなものかー身を置く場所も時も忘れてそんなことを思った
