残念ながら今年86歳で亡くなったニコラス・アーノンクールはオーストリアの伯爵貴族でした。しかし貴族らしからぬ熱のこもった指揮でオーケストラと観客を熱狂させてくれました。NHKホールでモーツアルトのレクイエムを直接聴いた時も、もちろん曲が曲だけにこのような熱狂ではありませんが、とても熱い魂のようなものを感じたのを記憶しています。
