ムラヴィンスキーによるショスタコーヴィチ交響曲第5番です。もともとこの曲はムラヴィンスキーによって初演されているので最もオリジナルに近い演奏かと推測されます。
ソビエト当時は演奏をするのも命がけで、重要なコンサートでミスを犯すとシベリア送りになったとか。
